If you receive this error:
“This card cannot be used for this transaction.”
The two main reasons (but not necessarily the only ones) for this error are:
1. Your PayPal account is “unverified” or “unconfirmed.” That can cause PayPal to limit your spending.
2. Your credit card is not linked to your PayPal account, which can also cause this error:
If you need to verify or confirm your PayPal account, you will need to:
Log in to your PayPal account.
Click Profile.
Click Add or Edit Bank Account
Enter your bank account info if it’s not already in there.
Click Confirm.
PayPal will deposit two small sums of money into your account.
Make a note of the amounts.
Log in to your PayPal account.
Click Profile.
Click Add or Edit Bank Account
Click Confirm
Enter in the amounts PayPal deposited.
If you need to link your credit card to your PayPal account, try these steps:
Go back to the "Make Payment" page Log in to your PayPal account.
Click Profile.
Click Add or Edit Credit Card.
Enter your credit card information
Click Link and Confirm My Card.
Click Save and Continue.
If there is a link to “Confirm” your card, click that.
This will authorize PayPal to use your card to send a code to you via email or your credit card statement.
Now you need to confirm a debit or credit card that you have linked to my PayPal account.
Locate the code on email or your card statement
1. PayPal will charge $1.95 to your card. (They will credit this amount to your PayPal account within 30 days.)
2. The charge will appear on your debit or credit card statement along with a 4-digit code and the word PayPal.
3. If you view your card statements online, you can check for the code in a few days. Otherwise, check for the code when you receive your next statement in the mail.
Confirm your card by entering the code
1. Have your 4-digit PayPal code ready.
2. Log in to your PayPal account.
3. Click Profile.
4. Click Credit/Debit Cards under Financial Information.
5. Click Link and Confirm My Card.
6. Enter the 4-digit PayPal code.
7. Click Submit.
I hope this helps. If you still are having trouble, please let me know. Thanks, Curtis. |
